This is one of those almost perfect games, where you get the hitting and pitching to come together. After struggling for a while with the bats, the Sox didn't look worn out tonight. They wore out a host of Devil Ray pitchers with bomb after bomb.
Johnny starts us off right with a hit. Then Papi picks up where he left off the other night with a two run dinger. Then Manny follows with a solo shot. Then the flood gates opened. There's too many highlights to even mention other than Papi is the Man.
Schill looked a little shakey early, then seemed to get his stuff together. He had a good splitter all night, and his fastball was still 93-94 in the seventh inning. He walked only one, and that was in the seventh.
Hopefully the win will re-energize the team for the stretch run here. The Yankees don't seem to be letting up, so we'll have to beat them.
