Splitting a double header isn't so bad, and we were lucky the Yankees got pounded. But Game 2 looked like a win and we didn't get it done.
Game 1 was a another gem for Wake. This guy is rolling like a train down a hill and there ain't no stopping him. The guy goes 7 and gives up three hits and one unearned run. Papelbon and Timlin got it done in the 8th and 9th for a tidy win.
Game 2 started like we were going sweep for sure. Schill couldn't locate the fastball consistently and ended getting hit pretty hard. He managed to leave a lot of guys on base by getting some timely strike outs, but still gave up 5 runs and 10 hits in 6 and a third.
Then pen couldn't keep this pressure cooker even, but the offense took the night off after the 4th. We had our chances early but didn't make as much hay as we could have early on.
