Give Chan Ho Park credit, he shut down one of the best offenses in baseball. We didn’t blow opportunities, we never really had any. Millar was clutch when we had a chance, but that was it. Wake didn’t pitch real bad. On any given night we’re still in it, but we were flat and got shut down, end of story.
The suspentions were a bit of a joke. Why did Arroyo get 6 games for plunking a guy with a medium fastball when the head hunter Carter gets 5? Oh, I see it was after those warnings were issued. As usual this is MLB B.S.. If you think a guy is head hunting, don’t you think the message should be load and clear?
Arroyo should be suspended for doing what he did, but give me a break Mr. Watson. Stop the head hunting and the worst of the on-field stuff will stop, too. By the way, suspending starting pitchers for 5 games is pretty much a joke as they only pitch every 5th day normally. If you suspended these guys a number of STARTS then you would curb the throwing at batters big time.
And to fine Ortiz? For what? Getting mad someone tried to hit him in the head with a 90 MPH fastball? I know it’s only $500, but still, it’s the principle.
We’re .500 boys. It’s the end of April. No time to hit the panic button.
