Through much of the game I thought I was going to have to join Tito in the hospital with chest pains. All the double plays and men LOB was killing us. When Johnny took strike 2 in the 9th when I thought he should be bunting sent chills up the old spine. But he came through and it all worked out. Then a little gift from A-Rod and the world was whole again.
Wake pitched a good game. I saw him get creamed in Fort Myers a couple of weeks ago and was concerned, but as Wake can do he bounced into form right when we needed it most.
Millar had a heck of a game. The Nation was relieved to hear he came out the game with a cramp, not an injury. If you remember Kevin had a terrible 1st half last year. Getting him going early would be nice.
The bullpen was solid as usual. When Timlin nailed Jeter though that was a little scary. Love or hate the Yankees you never want to see a guy take one off the melon.
And what’s up with Rivera? The Sox own him lately, which I love. But could you imagine the Yankee fans booing this guy? It’s so easy when your team is winning all these years. Then they turn on this future Hall of Famer and apparently real nice guy because the Sox have had success against him. Shame on you, NY NY.
Lets go to Toronto and show Mr. Hillenbrand a thing or two.
