Red Sox 8 – Yankees 1
The celebration continues! That was a nice ceremony celebrating the World Series win. Quite nice to provide rings to the many significant players of the past as well. I got to hand it the Yankees, they weren’t crying in their beer. They watched the whole thing like gentleman and then got their butts spanked.
Wake was brilliant yesterday. His kind of day… a bit breezy and the Yankees in town. Mirabelli, who’s HR per at bat ratio rivaled the lead leaders last year, goes deep in the second and we’re off the races. Mussina wasn’t on his game this day, and maybe got squeezed on a couple of calls. But his defense let him down and we took advantage. Nice clutch hits by Millar, Trot and Manny when the game was still on the line.
All in all a very enjoyable game.
