Schilling looked great and he looked bad. I guess that’s what happens when he essentially still in Spring Training mode. 10 K’s is great and 3 earned runs is not so great in 5 innings, but it’s a win. Some lousy defense didn’t help much, but’s hard to get on Manny. He just signed a deal to start using Akadema gloves, hope that helps!
Speaking of Manny, all of sudden he’s going great guns. Two more homers, the first a real bomb. Nice work.
Also, Trot made a terrific catch to rob what looked to be a homer. It was good of the fans to stay the heck out of his way!
Johnny had a 3 hit day, and Trot, Manny, Kevin and Bill each had 2.
With this line up we expect to get some runs, it was nice to get them today.
By the way, Hillenbrand was 4 for 4 and was hit once. The boys hot.
