Looked like Clement was going to implode in the first two innings. Three walks, a hit batter and a wild pitch does not normally add up to a spectacular performance. He only gave up two runs early and it could have been much worse. Somehow he settled down and was able to go 6 and give up three runs.
The offense looked good, except we had 13 hits and 5 walks, and managed to leave 12 stranded. Youk filled in nicely with another RBI, and David had a good game. I wish we could be a little more clutch.
Foulke looked great then like crap. Hopefully we work this guy every day until his arm is ready to fall off and he gets back to being his normal self. Last year if we went into the 9th with a lead it was almost an automatic W. Now, I’m popping Rolaids until the 3rd out is recorded.
After watching Renteria I’m just not impressed with his D. He’s average at best. He’ll make some tough plays but not like Nomar or Cabrera did. He’s no bum, but I don’t see how this guy was said to be so good with the glove.
Anyway, we finally took 2 of 3 in Texas. Hope this starts a nice little roll for us.
