There was no doubt in this one. We got our butts kicked every so soundly. You just had a feeling it wasn't going to be our night in the top of the first. We ran into two outs on the base paths, and thats always a bad harbinger of things to come.

I guess the honeymoon for Gonzalez was brief. He got his butt kicked early and often. Let's see, 3 1/3, seven runs, two homers, two walks. His fastball was straight and up, and there was no breaking stuff to speak of. That's bad news. Halama, who has been decent, came in a gave it on the first pitch, a three run bomb to Beltre.

The offense did what they could. But ending the rally in the third by getting Tek thrown out at the plate is Not Good.

It's better to lose big than by 1. Lets put this one behind us and win the next one.
