I was wrong about this one. On paper it looked like it would be a slug fest. Miller lived on the hairy edge early in the game, getting out of jams on a regular basis. He ended up going And El Duque gave up a long ball to Manny in the first and shut us down.
Miller ended up going 7, striking out 4, walking 4 and giving up 5 hits. Nine base runners in 7 innings is nothing to write about, but Miller managed to keep them from scoring. Miller's usual first inning jitters were present but he escaped thanks to a strong throw by Tek to get a White Sox runner out at second and a pick off by Miller, both in the first.
Tek gave us a little breathing room in the ninth with a solo homer and we would need it. Schill came in to poitch the 9th and gave us a thrill, giving up two quick hits to start the inning. He managed to get a come-backer leading to a 1-6-3 double play saved his bacon. Manny made a nice catch to end the game.
